Have had the chance to come here twice. Once for Seattle Restaurant Week and once for finding one of their keys from a marketing campaign/game they did last month. The food here is amazing! Seriously do yourself a favor and come here for the tasting menu, you will not be disappointed. As soon as you drive up you're greeted by the valets who take your care away and treat it with kid gloves. As soon as you walk in the host(ess) or even one of the Canlis brothers greets you and seats at your table. If you're luck you get one of tables in the NE corner where you get an unobstructed view of Lake Union and Gasworks park. The servings are just right, not like other places that have a tasting menu but fill you up so much that you leave feeling bloated and ready to bust a seam in our pants. The ambiance is very mellow but current. The last time I was there the pianist played everything from Michael Jackson to Adele to Rick Springfield. They are also VERY accommodating when it comes to allergies or food restrictions. We had some interesting food restrictions in our group last time and they found a way around each and every one of them without sacrificing taste or presentation. I would say the last thing that I really enjoyed is the ticketless valet - as soon as you're on your way out they already know which car is yours and have it ready or pulling up without having to worry about where you left the ticket/stub!Was this review helpful?

Love this place! Bit of a foodie myself, and I must say I was impressed with everything this restaurant has to offer. Extensive wine list, perfectly prepared food, I could go on and on. I highly recommend it!Was this review helpful?

The Doctors Bright 46 years ago we were graduate students at the University of Washington.. We couldn't afford MacDonalds, let alone Canlis, but we always wished we could eat there. Finally, last week we made it and it was worth the wait. Magnificent view and fabulous atmosphere, great food, superb service and even a tour from the floor manager (thanks David). From that tour we got an idea of what it takes to run a great restaurant. We went with a friend from many years and she and her husband had eaten there five years ago. She had phoned ahead for reservations the week before. The night before they phoned her and reminded her of the reservations and checked to see if they had changed their address. Immediately after the tour we shook hands with the manager and our car was waiting at the door. These were signs of a great staff operating with superb efficiency. This was quite possibly the finest and most memorable dining experience of our lives--so far. We would recommend this restaurant with great enthusiasm. Some people go for the service, others go for the food, but everybody goes for the view. Or to act out a fantasy to be on the Mad Men set. My husband and I have spent numerous anniversaries and birthdays here. It's a classy place to celebrate or entertain. There is a dress code, so gentlemen, wear a jacket. Was this review helpful?

There are no words to describe this restaurant! It was the best restaurant I have ever been to! Believe me, I have been to restaurants like La tour d'argent in Paris and many other amazing restaurants around the world, but this one, there is no way I can discribe this restaurant! It met and exceeded my expectations in all posible levels. I'm really speechless! Make sure that before you leave this world you go there. I'm not kidding, it's a one in a lifetime experience! Was this review helpful?
